North Country Handymen: Automating the Busywork Away

We redesigned and automated North Country Handymen's intake, invoicing, and project-tracking workflows, freeing the owner from 12–15 hours of weekly busywork.

North Country Handymen does it all - foundations, framing, finish work, electrical, plumbing, and heating for clients across upstate New York. But the more the business grew, the more its owner found himself buried in the paperwork around the work instead of the work itself.

The challenge

Founder and CEO Corwin Christman was losing 12 to 15 hours every week to the same recurring tasks: invoicing, onboarding new customers, entering information by hand, and tracking each project from beginning to middle to end. None of it was the skilled trade work the company was built on - it was the administrative drag that piles up when a hands-on business scales without a system underneath it.

Redesigning the processes of a company that’s already running is never effortless. As Corwin put it, changing how an operating business works is “not a perfectly smooth process” - which made trust and communication central to the engagement.

What we built

We mapped North Country Handymen’s existing workflow and rebuilt it as a single connected, automated pipeline. The whole thing now starts from one intake form: once a customer’s information lands, a series of downstream documents and records are generated automatically - code quietly handing work off from one system to the next.

Throughout the redesign, our priority was making Corwin’s concerns our concerns, so the final system reflected what was actually best for the business rather than a one-size-fits-all template.

The outcome

The initial intake form now sets off a chain of actions that used to be manual, eliminating roughly five to six paperwork steps that Corwin previously handled by hand for every job. The 12–15 hours a week that used to disappear into administrative work are back in his schedule.

“If you want more time in your life, then having Quantify do what they did for me for you is a no-brainer. It’s going to save you absolutely tons of time - and it’s worth the initial investment upfront.”
